All Decorated for Christmas

Our Christmas Tree
This year we did not have a fire-place so we improvised

I saw this in a magazine so I decided I could make it cheaper than I could buy it. I cut down some tree branches from my parents house and spray painted them white, then I decorated it with red and silver bulbs and our personalized Christmas ornaments. I had so much fun making this!

Each Christmas I buy a new ornament and personalize it. I think it will be a fun tradition to continue each year, especially as our family grows!
All the wonderful Christmas cards we got this year
A Christmas tree in our beach bathroom. I made this one too including the sand and shell ornaments

Bass Lake

The whole Lockridge family rented a cabin at Bass Lake the week before Christmas. It was so much fun and we all agreed that this would be a yearly tradition.
Day 1: We all arrived at the cabin early afternoon on Tuesday. Got the cars unpacked and the cabin fully stocked of yummy food, snacks, games, puzzles, movies and all our sleeping stuff. We wasted no time and got a 1000 piece puzzle started, which we finished in 24 hours. Megan cooked us a wonderful dinner of corn-flake chicken, rice and veggies. We ended the night with the movie Christmas Vacation.
Day 2: Woke up to the smell of coffee and monkey bread knowing that we had nothing to do that day but relax and enjoy each others company. We went on a walk down to the beautiful but very empty lake. Spent the afternoon playing board games, ping pong, and finishing up the puzzle. We all had another wonderful dinner and stayed up way to late playing games.
Day 3: We all woke up early that morning so we could eat breakfast and pack up the cabin. Two days at the cabin was just not long enough so next year we hope to add another day to our Lockridge Family Vacation.

Water Dogs

I am pretty sure that our dogs love the water and they will do just about anything to get wet. This weekend I turned on the water for my shower so it would be nice and warm when I got in, I walked away for a few minutes and came back to find both my dogs in the shower. It was so funny they were both sitting down with the water running down their backs. I could not resist but to take a picture. I have to say that I sure do love my crazy dogs!

Stone Ridge Knights Football

This last Friday night Charles and I went and supported our old Highschool football team. Stone Ridge has been on our hearts for many years and we prayed that one day the Lord would allow Stone Ridge to be our ministry, we never thought it would be this soon. A couple weeks into the school year Charles got a phone call asking him if he would pray about being the Athletic Director for Stone Ridge, we prayed and had complete peace that this was the plan the Lord had for our lives. We are so thankful for the Lords many blessings and hope that we can be a blessing to Stone Ridge. Plus with out Stone Ridge I would have never met the love of my life, best friend and high-school sweet heart.
Our friends from church Jake and Leanne joined us at the football game

Morro Bay
Charles and I decided that we would get away for the weekend and the coast was just begging us to visit. We got on the road about 9 am on Friday morning and got to the beach around noon. We unpacked the truck and set up our camp sight. Once we got settled in, we walked down to the beach and got some fresh sea food. It was the perfect treat after a long drive. Then we walked the dogs around the cute little town of Morro Bay where we enjoyed holding hands and checking out all the little beach shops. We finished the day off with a good meal around the campfire. Saturday morning we got up had some breakfast and then loaded up the dogs and went kayaking. We saw birds, fish, and sea lions on our trip through the bay. We stopped for lunch and had a picnic on the beach just a few hundred feet from the base of Morro Rock. The setting of our picnic was nearly picture perfect; with the waves crashing onto shore and the Rock to our right towering over us, we couldn't help but admire Gods handiwork. Sadly on Sunday we packed up the car and left Morro Bay to head back home. Before heading home we stopped in SLO to see Brandon, my brother and Natalie, my cousin. Overall it was a wonderful weekend filled with lots of wonderful memories.

Puppies

In the second week of June, I was on Craig's List looking at puppies (Just to get an idea of what kind of dog we wanted) well at least that is how I justified it and I found the cutest puppies. So I convinced Charles to just go and look at them... and guess what we ended up coming home with two puppies that day. The little girl is named Daisy and the boy is named Tuck. They have been a big part of our lives these last two months from the sleepless first week, potty training, learning to swim, learning ticks and of course lots of loving.
8 weeks old "First day as a Lockridge"

Grandma Lockridge got our dogs their first and favorite toy
We took them up to the houseboat and we found out that they are water dogs.

Now they know a few tricks "Sit"
"Lay Down"

We are really enjoying the puppies, they are truly the best dogs in the world.

Family Houseboat Trip

This weekend we packed the car and headed up to the houseboat for a fun filled weekend with the Lockridge family and the Nordman family.

Taking the boat out for some wake-boarding
Charles Wake-Boarding
It was fun watching how good Brandon is a Wake-Boarding
Even Dave gave it a try

After a couple hours out on the sky-boat we went to the dock and picked up Dave, Meg and Levi.
Meg and Levi enjoying putting their feet in the water
Levi was looking good in his new life-vest
Levi took Uncle Charlie out for a spin in the boat. That is one proud uncle!!!
Daisy and Tuck sure loved the water
After all that swimming it was nap time

We had a wonderful time up at the house-boat and we hope that we get to do it again some time soon.
